What should I wear in the sea?

It really depends. If you are going to swim in the Mediterranean, don’t worry. If you are going to swim in the Red Sea, then I advice you to buy some swimming shoes.

when you swim in Egypt , wear a regular swimsuit .
if the shore has stones , which is rare , wear plastic sandals to protect your feet
i have been to all the shores and never had to wear anything like that

Second: No you don’t have to wear anything on your feet; and if you want anything you will find it here in Egypt…….good luck
It can be rocky in the Red Sea & spiny fish, i know from experience, so beach shoes would be good.
Just get some ‘Jellies’ from a local shop at home, or they do have beach shoes in the local shops, cheaply.

You can wear what you want, swimsuit. If you’re going to a tourist hotel on the Red Sea, you can wear bikini
Hi, If you are going to Sharm El Sheikh you can go in with bare feet. I got back from there 1 month ago. My husband and I went snorkeling alot and we saw one Sea Urchin. The water is really blue so u can see in the water at least in the shallow. Water shoes aren’t a bad idea though. FYI, Sharm has jelly fish. Some days they are all over the place. The locals said they don’t sting. A few touched me and nothing happened. Have fun! U will love it…go to Naama Bay at night it’s awesome. YOu can buy water shoes pretty much anywhere like targe or walmart but I didn’t see any there. Probably take them with u.
I am Egyptian and we wear normal swim suits in the sea. I donno what kind of shoes you are advised to wear, if anything, people might make fun of you if you wear shoes while swimming!
Egypt is wonderful be normal and enjoy your stay. I assume you are going to Hurgada or Sharm Al Shaikh, both are heaven and very tourists friendly. If you go to Hurgada, dont miss taking a drive (20 min from hurgada airport) to elgouna resort, it is my favourite spot in the red sea!
