Marriage in Egypt was far less formal that it is now. There were no legal or religious ceremonies, , exception cases where a pre-nuptial agreement was made (such devices were known in Egypt. Though were not required, some people had them). There was possibly a bridal gift/dowry, though the evidence is far from certain on this aspect, and then the couple moved in – and that was that.Families no doubt held parties and festivities, but from a legal-religious view it was quite a low key affair, and the Egyptians didn’t regard marriage as a sacrosanct and eternal contract.

We don’t know a great deal about Royal weddings. The private life of Pharaonic Royalty existed in a completely opposite situation of modern Royalty in that it was kept almost entirely out of public view. A few Ramesside Pharaohs did not keep to this tradition, but they are very much the exception. As such, we honestly don’t know very much.

The marriage situation for the Pharaoh was very different – Unlike commoners Pharaonic marriages were polygamous, which was unknown amongst common Egyptians. Marriages to 1st degree relatives (i.e. parent-child, and between siblings) sometimes within the palace (not always, contrary to popular myth), but not amongst commoners.

Answer by eggman
it’s a good idea

try paper mache…first get a small and long balloon…blow it up…then take newspaper and tear it into smaller pieces (what ever size you need)…then take some flour and put it in a bowl…pour some water in the bowl…mix it up(trial and error will get the right consistency)…then dip the paper in the water/flour mix and start wrapping it around the balloon…it should dry in a day or so,,,then you can paint it…

for the people you can use clay or laundry pins (ask your mother) for the base…or just use wound up newspaper…

the site below tells you how and gives you a link to mixture recipes…

Can the people of Egypt do nothing to help the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip?

Question by Maya: Can the people of Egypt do nothing to help the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip?
I thought your government controlled one of the access roads. Those people are utterly under siege and cut off from the world; even the media can’t get in. Can’t Egypt at least keep one access point open?

Best answer:

Answer by Galp
Of course they could if they wanted to. I refuse to believe that with all the vast oil money generated by oil producing arab nations around Israel and Palestine that they could not have brought the palestinians to some level of civilization.

Look at a map, the entire Gaza strip is like 6 miles by 30 miles. That means you can drive from left to right in a few minutes and from top to bottom in like half an hour. The arab nations, if they were so sensitive to the plight of the palestians, could have gilded the entire area in gold if they wanted to. And you can’t even blame Israeli sanctions for the aid not coming in. There are many times when sanctions on aid have been removed and there was no outpouring of generosity from arab nations.

An alternative explanation is that the constant bad press Israel receives because of the deplorable conditions in palestine benefits the Arab nations and so the status quo stands.

The concepts of perspective weren’t developed in art yet. And i think the wanted to show actions and simple parts of life so the subjects probably weren’t facing straight forward.

When did people begin to worship Egyptian Pharaohs?

Question by Apollyon: When did people begin to worship Egyptian Pharaohs?
I know that in Egyptian mythologies, the Pharaoh is associated as a reincarnation of Horus, but I was wondering when this happened and why. I mean, I guess the “why” would be kinda common sense, but I’m curious about the background of the deification of the Egyptian Pharaoh.

Best answer:

Answer by Krys
It is not known for certain when the view of the Pharaoh as a living image of Horus first developed, but there is already a clear link between Horus and person of the Pharaoh in the 1st Dynasty (c. 3000-2900BCE). From this period we see the use of the serekh to enclose the Royal name, surmounted by the falcon (Horus), whilst at the very beginning of this period, a falcon holds the enemies of Narmer on the Narmer palette. The latter doesn’t absolutely confirm that the Pharaoh *was* Horus, though clearly there is a close relationship between the two, but the Serekh makes it clear that Horus (falcon) resides within the Royal palace that the serekh depicts.

As such the ideology of the Divine Kingship does go back to the earliest days of a united Egyptian state.

Whether or not it existed prior to that in the pre-dynastic states really cannot be said with any certainty, but during the Naqada II (c. 3500-3200BCE) period there was a strong move towards social stratification and hierarchies that would suggest the emergence of a powerful elite. These social changes would likely go hand in hand with theological changes.
