Q&A: Egyptians: Do you find it unacceptable for non-Egyptian Arabs to express political opinion in Egypt Section?

Question by Hatem A: Egyptians: Do you find it unacceptable for non-Egyptian Arabs to express political opinion in Egypt Section?
This is a serious question and seeking real opinions. I have posted answers and questions in the Egypt Section before, and almost always some Egyptian participants (a minority of responses)made me feel unwelcome for being non-Egyptian expressing a political opinion in the Egypt Section. Honestly speaking this made me reluctant to post in this section many times.

So I am seeking your honest opinions. Should non-Egyptian Arabs not express their political opinions in the Egypt Section, even if they state that they are not Egyptians?

anyone can express his opinion if he really know what’s going on in Egypt and if he understands the situation so well, i give myself the right to express my opinion of what’s going on in other Arab countries.
i read some of ur answers and i found it very supportive for Egyptians.

  • Egyptian Pharaoh II says:

Most of the time I don’t accept “Non Egyptians” opinions ..

  • Hesham F says:

no its ok but just opinion not try to support a group on another

  • ClĂ©opatre says:

    You can express..with pleasure :-)

awalan ya hatem ahlan wasahlan beik..

i want to tell u that now most of the users on the section are not the regulars. because they have formed a facebook account and have”moved out” there.

i find it very considerate and decent of you to ask such a question. it shows that u r sensitive to other people’s feeling…and i thank you for this.

    now to answer ur question..
u r free to answer anywhere on yahoo as u wish…
u r entitled to ur own opinion
but keep in mind that any person becomes defensive if u criticize the main issues that make up his ”’being”,,like his parents, his religion, his country..
    so just use gentle words
and they should be mature enough to accept other people’s opinion ,,exchange views, discuss and debate .

it sort of also depends where u are from..i feel egyptians dont like qatari and kuwaiti…because they dont like us!!!!
so lets hope u r not from there :0

    No problem..

    Depends on the person.

The only thing that pisses me off is when they praise this as a Muslim Brotherhood revolution or when they’re happy because they think it means we’re going to send thousands of more Egyptian soldiers to die fighting Israel for the Arabs or Palestinians. This is an EGYPTIAN problem and if you don’t know sh!t about Egypt internally, shut the hell up. Egypt is not a tool for fundamentalists or foreign nationalists.

  • YO! 14th account. says:

Within limits. I mean tbh I make hate speeches about Saudi Arabia and most of the Gulf so I’d be a hypocrite to not let you express your opinion.

Besides, who’s gonna give you the right not too lol. I mean Americans stick there nose into everyones business so why not our arab brothers unless you’re from Saudi Arabia and UAE no offense.

  • Compassionate Sadist says:

more than welcome, you are our brother

  • Wise Heart says:

If it’s about internal policy or circumstances, I prefer no. We have our reasons to irritated from others’ opinions specially Arabs and our internal problems.

  • . says:

Well, it’s perfectly fine with me, as long as they actually know what they’re talking about. I hate people who don’t have their facts straight. Even if it’s an opposing view, i think it’s actually interesting to get an outsider’s view of what’s going on. A debate is always good to me no matter what. Feel free to express your opinion no matter what it is. And if someone disagrees they have every right to express that too…

Isn’t that one of the things we want right now in Egypt? Freedom of expression??? Lets not be hypocrites here.

And hey Hatem just because you’re not Egyptian doesn’t mean you don’t understand what’s happening right now :D I saw one of your answers before, and you seem to know exactly what’s going on here, so you should definitely feel free to express yourself.

Everyone can say what they want, right? It’s not like you’re actually taking matters into your own hands and trying to change Egypt yourself lol then yeah i agree, no one should interfere. But it’s perfectly fine to form opinions on what’s happening.

  • arabic_movie_man says:

    Why not?

So long as they know what’s going on and have at least visited Egypt that is.

What I hate however is when people come in completely stupid with something like “WHAT IS GOING ON IN EGYPT???!!!!” without even bothering to read the news. People like that just annoy me.

Or even worse is when non-Egyptians call you ignorant of what’s going on in Egypt. I’ve known Egypt all my life, I don’t need to be told about Mubarak’s regime yet some people insist on “educating” me on his regime. Worst of all is they probably didn’t know anything about Egypt until 3 weeks ago.
