I’m not really sure about Egyptian religion… I wasn’t aware there was one, other than the many dozens of gods and goddesses they worshiped on a daily basis. I don’t know how their beliefs changed over the years, or if they have changed at all, but there’s not really a lot I can tell you about Egypt, ancient or otherwise. But, here’s what I do know:

Ra: Sun God– Was though to ride a chariot through the sky and guide the sun to where it sets in the evening.

Anubis: Underworld God– Weighed the good and bad deeds of a person who died (something like a weighing scale… think of the Libra sign), and if his heart weighed heavy, they went to what we could call Hell. If his heart was light, the soul would ascend to what we call Heaven.

Pharaoh: Ruler– Somewhat different from a king, so to speak, although the job was technically the same. Either a man or a woman coule be a pharaoh/King, and were called by the male address regardless if sex. Sheeba is a good example of this point.

Imhotep: God of Medicine– Was a mortal man who served as a healer for a pharaoh. Legend has it he was so good at his job, that when he died, he was mummified and was worshiped as a god.

Isis and Osiris: Otherwise known as Life and Death– Osiris was betrayed and killed for his position as pharaoh. He also had a rather inappropriate relationship with his sister, Isis, who was considered a Queen.
