How far will the protests go in Egypt?
Question by Cool Dude: How far will the protests go in Egypt?
The same revolt happened in the Soviet Union. Victory (theoretical, anyway) came when the Soviet military refused to take action against Soviet citizens. Will the Egyptian military make the same choice? Then there’s the revolution in Iran that put the Ayatollah Khomeini in power. Is there a possibility of Egypt trading a virtual political dictatorship for a theocratic dictatorship?

A. The U.S. will put enough pressure on Mubarak and/or the Egyptian army, the army will quell the protests, and a new form of government will be put into place, approved by the U.S. and Egypt. It would be imperative for the new government to address the human rights issues immediately.
B. The Muslim Brotherhood has more power than we think, and they will take over. If that happens, Israel has reason to be concerned.
I sincerely hope and pray that option A happens.
