Does anyone know where I can find an Egyptian mau kitten breeder in Lafayette?

Question by : Does anyone know where I can find an Egyptian mau kitten breeder in Lafayette?
Hey I love Egyptian maus and I’m looking for one, can anyone tell me where I can find a breeder? Please help!

Best answer:

Answer by Café Mocha Valencia
You’ll only find one at a TICA, CFA or ACFA registered breeder. They’re pretty uncommon so expect to pay at LEAST $ 1,000 for a pet quality kitten. TICA’s website lists some of the registered breeders http://www.tica.org/public/breeds/em/breeders.php

Why do you want a Mau? Have you actually gone to cat shows and seen them in person or have known someone that had a pedigreed Mau? Or are you just picking the breed from pictures you’ve seen on the internet?

Also might want to at least specify what STATE you’re in – or country for that matter since this site is WORLDWIDE.

edit: Canadian – not a single one of those cats listed on Petfinder are Maus. They’re DOMESTICS. Lots of people think every Silver Spotted Tabby is a Mau. Maus always have Gooseberry Green eyes – see them on any of these cats? Or any other Mau trait for that matter? No, you don’t. Not saying this person shouldn’t adopt – all my own cats are adopted – but rather misleading to make them think a Mau can be found at a shelter.

What are some important events of ancient egyptian art ?

Question by GoddessG: What are some important events of ancient egyptian art ?
Can some please tell me what are some important events that took place in ancient egyptian art thax :)

Best answer:

Answer by crossstitchkelly
I’m not sure that you mean events taking place in art, but some of the most impressive buildings and statues were created by Ramses II. He had an ego to match his family size (over 90 children), and built huge statues and temples (Abu Simh?) to commemorate his great feats, even when they didn’t really happen. Also, the Temple of Luxor would be a great place to look–for centuries pharoahs continued to add on their own personal temples to the gods at Luxor. The Pyramids are just a starting point.

Q&A: Why so many Egyptian statues are missing the nose?

Question by Mad Grimey: Why so many Egyptian statues are missing the nose?
I know the many theories. I remember reading once that Alexander the Great ordered the noses removed when he invaded Egypt. I can’t find that information again – I forgot where I read it. I can’t remember why he made this order; was it because he was attempting to undermine Egyptian politics by “dismembering” the Egyptian belief system? A symbolic political/war strategy?

Best answer:

Answer by LeTipex
Also, the nose, like every appendage, is one of the most fragile part of a stone statue. It makes sense that the nose (and fingers most of the time too) are the parts that were less able to survive the thousands of years.

I don’t know anything about a political removal of the noses thought. It’s an interesting thought, but it can be explained even without considering this.
