Surrey, UK (PRWEB) March 12, 2008

Kuoni Travel, the leading UK long haul operator, has announced rising popularity for its Egypt holidays along with plans to strengthen the usability and customer experience of their site through expanding the use of travel videos across all key destinations.

Kuoni are planning to build on Egypt’s popularity by expanding the Egypt Holidays product range to offer more choice to customers. For 2009 new experiences and hotels will be added, including the Sofitel El Gerizah in Cairo, a recently refurbished hotel offering beautiful Nile views. A range of new deluxe properties built by Sun International in the Red Sea resort of Port Galib, near Marsa Alam, will also be available and these make an excellent multi-centre holiday when combined with other destinations such as Luxor or Cairo.

Alicia Welsman, Senior Product Manager commented on the growing popularity of their Egypt holidays:

“As a destination, Egypt has an enormous amount to offer; it’s relatively close to the UK, has reliably good weather and presents many cultural and historic attractions as well as fantastic diving and beaches.”

Kuoni has further strengthened the usability of their site by launching a new travel video gallery, as part of their online travel guides. Matt Rooke, eBuisness Director for Kuoni commented:

“We now have over 250 videos on our site which provide travellers with a fantastic opportunity to experience the destinations and hotels before deciding upon their holiday.”

The video section has proved to be very popular with travellers, as it enables them to get a real feel for a destination before they even leave home. So far the Egypt holiday videos have been the most viewed. The selection includes an Egypt country video, resort videos for Cairo, Luxor and Aswan as well as over 25 hotel videos, including videos for the Four Seasons at the First Residence in Cairo and the Ritz Carlton in Sharm El Sheikh.

“The videos on our site have been extremely popular and the introduction to Egypt travel video has been the most popular of these with over 25,000 views in the last 6 months. We will be offering more rich media content across all our key destinations, with another 50 videos to be added in the next month alone,” said Matt Rooke.

Princess Cruises Reinstates Calls to Egypt on Upcoming Sailings

Santa Clara, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 18, 2011

Princess Cruises has reinstated calls to Egyptian ports on all itineraries where they were previously removed.

The cruises aboard Star Princess, Dawn Princess, Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess have now returned to their originally published itineraries, Princess’ first Egypt call is scheduled for May 15.

The Egyptian ports of Alexandria and Port Said are part of the two-day Egypt experience included on the line’s 12-day Holy Land sailings. Sailings depart from May 7 through November 15, 2011.

Passengers currently booked on Holy Land sailings are being contacted with the revised itinerary information.

The Pyramids Top New List of British Photographers? Favourite Landmarks

The Pyramids Top New List of British Photographers’ Favourite Landmarks

(PRWeb UK) November 16, 2010

A recent online survey of 1,000 British photographers has named the Pyramids of Egypt as their favourite landmark in the world. The survey, which was commissioned by digital photo printing service, Truprint, asked the respondents to identify the most appealing international landmark from a list of ten popular monuments from around the world, including Big Ben, and the Statue of Liberty.20% of those questioned named Egypt’s most famous attractions as their favourite. While these results may come as a surprise to some people, industry insiders believe that these findings reflect the enduring appeal of Egypt holidays.

Ian Raine of online holiday firm ulookubook.com says: “The Pyramids in Egypt are one of the Seven Wonders of the World, so it’s no wonder that they’ve scored so well. They also beat a number of other recognisable world sites to the top spot, such as Big Ben, which received 17% of the vote, and the Eiffel Tower, which scored 15% of the vote.”

The Pyramids, and other associated attractions, such as the Valley of the Kings, are just two of the reasons that thousands of holidaymakers book all-inclusive Egypt holidays every year. These important archaeological sites provide tourists with the opportunity to explore and learn more about the ancient Egyptians.

Raine continues: “Egypt enables tourists to really get lost in one of the most interesting and mysterious chapters of human history. This survey reflects the endearing quality of the Pyramids compared to some of the more modern landmarks on the list, such as the Sydney Opera House, which can be challenge to photograph. By comparison, the Pyramids offer keen photographers the chance to take a great shot while enjoying the many other delights that are available on cheap holidays to Egypt.”

Vodafone Egypt Launches paybox’ TopUp Mobiliser — Taking North Africa to the Next Level in m-Commerce

Vodafone Egypt Launches paybox’ TopUp Mobiliser — Taking North Africa to the Next Level in m-Commerce

Frankfurt, Germany, (PRWEB) January 31, 2007

paybox, the trendsetting company for mobile payment enterprise solutions, announced the launch of the paybox TopUp Mobiliser for Vodafone Egypt.

When Vodafone Egypt was founded in 1998, only the elite and the rich could own mobile phones. With the introduction of prepaid mobile phone plans, Vodafone has made a paradigm shift in Egyptian culture, making mobile phones a necessity rather than a luxury. Now, Vodafone Egypt pushes mobile Commerce to the Next Level. With paybox TopUp Mobiliser, it re-invents its prepaid card distribution processes to increase transparency across a layered network of more than 5.000 merchants. With paybox TopUp Mobiliser, all players in the distribution network benefit: While Vodafones reduces distribution and logistics cost as well as fraud, its distributors and merchants reduce distribution cost, fraud, working capital and overheads.

paybox TopUp Mobiliser is an integral product of the paybox Mobiliser Platform mobilising values such as money, top-ups, brands and content. It enables the electronic distribution of any airtime or credit-like product through any channel:

“paybox Street TopUp” replaces existing scratch card distribution and allows merchants selling airtime directly from their cell-phones to consumers’ cell-phones in fixed and variable top-up denominations

“paybox Shop TopUp” allows merchants selling airtime value directly from cash registers, POS terminals or internet PCs. The airtime can be either directly credited on the customers mobile or the voucher code can be printed onto payment slips from POS terminals or on printouts of a PC as receipts.

“paybox Self TopUp” allows consumers direct recharging mechanisms for self- and buddy top-ups through any channel

Vodafone Egypt selected paybox TopUp Mobiliser because it was best suited to integrate top-ups in a broader mobile Commerce offering. Moatasem Osam, Head of Payment Platforms – Vodafone Egypt, is excited about the paybox TopUp Mobiliser: “Besides helping us to dramatically reduce our distribution cost and increase transparency in our distribution processes, it offers flexibility, customer convenience, and opens many opportunities beyond airtime top-up to launch further m-Payment and m-Commerce services with paybox”.

Eckhard Ortwein, paybox CEO, adds: “With paybox TopUp Mobiliser, operators and service providers can leverage the top-up opportunity to offer services across multiple channels beyond airtime top-up. They take the first step to build a portfolio of value added mobile services for content and commerce, banking and trading, remittances and payments as well as marketing – leveraging the solutions of the paybox Mobiliser Platform and our years of experience in the business.”
