Egypt : Is it cumpulsory for a foreigner woman to wear a Scarf covering her head?

Planning to visit Egypt (Cairo/Alex/Luxor) in a couple of months, and i have been getting mixed reviews on this point, so please explain?
Does a foreigner female have to wear a scarf to cover her head in Egypt? Is it cumpulsory? Would it be taken wrong if not worn, atleast in these three cities?

Thanks a lot for your answers, everybody! I had asked this for my wife, and happy to know its not a “requirement”. And about the general dressing, yes i understand the limits one can go upto in a cultural country as i am from India and its not as strict as Egypt, but still has quiet a bit of cultural restrictions around.
