My family left Egypt because of a persecution of the Copts under Sadat. Things have gotten better under Mubarak. Mubarak has been there for almost 30 years though and I am worried that when he goes Egypt might go into civil war that would be bad for my people. Am I right in having this fear?
What I’m asking is, will Egypt stay like it is which is in the same kind of boat as say Bahrain, Qatar, Syria and Indonesia or are the radicals strong enough in Egypt that they are going to take Egypt in a direction more like Saudi Arabia or Iran?
Mubarak is corrupt and a dictator and Copts are still discriminated against in Egypt but he at least restored Pope Shenouda to Alexandria.

My fear is that radicals might try and sieze the country after he’s gone making things worse for us. My parents left and I would like to return but I can’t return if things will only be worse for us
Egypt does not need to be under Sharia. Egypt needs a government centered on Egypt and nothing else. We may need to have quotas like Lebanon has.
